Punxsutawney Phil
A very famous mammal lives in Pennsylvania!!
Punxsutawney Phil makes his appearance every year on February 2, to much hoopla
and crowds gathered round to see him make his trip from his winter sleep.
If this famous Phil sees his shadow... we will have 6 more weeks of cold weather!!
It seems many people truly believe his predictions.
Preparations are being made far in advance. People start arriving at Gobbler's Knob
at 3AM on the 2nd of February. Phil usually makes his appearance about 7:25AM.
Spectators view this phenomonen through glass windows. Many people make this
a yearly visit.
A banquet is held On Wednesday, Feb. 1st this year at 6:30PM at the
Punxsutawney High School Cafeteria. The admission charge is $25.00 per person.

To determine whether winter will go or will it stay??
Six more weeks--maybe longer--In Minnesota
A shadow means a longer nap for Phil and all his kin
They begin to huddle up and start a new sleep-in
But you and me we just can't sleep throughout the winter here
So have a heapin' hopin' the shadow won't appear.
